Overnight closures of M90 northbound: 3-8 August
The northbound carriageway of the M90 will be closed between Junction 1C Admiralty and Junction 2 Pitreavie from 20:00 until 06:00 on the nights of 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 August. This is to allow operating company Amey to install traffic loops in the road surface and to renew road markings.
A diversion route for northbound traffic will be signposted from M90 Junction 1C Admiralty to Junction 3 Halbeath via the A985 Admiralty Road, the B980 Kings Road, A823 Queensferry Road, Carnegie Avenue, Lapwing Drive, Sandpiper Drive and Sanderling Way.
These works have been scheduled overnight to minimise disruption, however motorists travelling during these times are advised to allow some extra time for their journey.
The safety of workers remains a top priority during this essential maintenance project. Physical distancing protocols, in line with Scottish Government guidance, will be in place to ensure all on-site personnel remain safe throughout the duration of the project. Thorough risk assessments will be carried out and cleansing stations will be implemented on site.
Transport Scotland and Amey fully recognise the importance of a safe and reliable trunk road network, particularly during the Covid-19 outbreak, and it is vital that essential maintenance works are carried out in order to maintain the integrity and safety of these routes. A number of maintenance projects have been identified as essential and will be prioritised over the coming weeks.
Please note that all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme has been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland and FCBC.
