BEAR Scotland is hosting a Queensferry Crossing Doors Open Day event in Transport Scotland's Contact and Education Centre in South Queensferry on Saturday 26th September 2026, 9am - 5pm.

Explore the story of this iconic crossing through 

  • Construction Displays
  • Educational Activities for younger visitors
  • Forth Bridges Art and Photography
  • Scottish Road Archive
  • Bridge Merchandise
  • Virtual Reality Experience

There will be a charity raffle to win one of five trips for two to the top of a Queensferry Crossing main tower with proceeds going to Children's Hospices Across Scotland.

BEAR Scotland is also bringing one of its gritter fleet for visitors to have a chance to sit in the driver's seat - not just for the younger visitors!

Forth Bridges Trail

The Forth Bridges Trail offers a great introduction to the bridges and local area.

It takes in many points of historic interest, introduces local tales and folklore, and offers some incredible panoramic views. 

A circular five mile route, the trail can easily be completed in a day. Take a picnic or stop off to sample the cafes along the way.  

Walk or cycle, experience an epic train ride across The Forth Bridge and enjoy a boat trip on the Firth of Forth.
